Looking for Alaska

This book is one of many great books by John Green. It starts out with a boy named Miles who moves to a boarding school in Culver Creek for his junior year in high school. He makes some pretty neat friends there, but the book is mainly focused around a girl named Alaska. (Hence the title name) This book is about relationships and friendships, along with the happiness and grief that follow. I thought this book was really good, but pretty sad at some parts. Do not compare this book to The Fault in Out Stars or Paper Towns! Personally I thought Paper Towns was more depressing than this book, but that is my completely non-professional opinion. This book does cover some more mature topics, so if that is not what you were expecting for your next weekly read, try some of John Green's other books. My favorite character was Alaska probably because of her spunk.
