Allegiant

This is the third book in the Divergent series, and I have finally read it. Most if not all of you have already read this book and the series, and I agree the ending could have been better. In Allegiant, Tris and her friends are trying to figure out what is happening to their city, and the place beyond the gates. Now that the factions are gone, Evelyn Johnson rules the city with the faction-less by her side and is more or less a dictator. As Tris learns about what is beyond the gates, she realizes what she needs to do to forgive her brother, and save her city. Like the rest of the books, this was a quick read because I could not put it down. This could be a two week book with around 520 pages, but I loved all of it. I really liked how the chapters would switch off between Tobias and Tris, that way you could see the same situation in two different ways. Even though this book didn't have my ideal ending, it was written so well I loved it anyway. I actually really liked why Veronica Roth chose the last plot twist at the end to be that way, and I think it made the book better. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the other Divergent books or anyone who likes the Hunger Games because to me they are really similar. I would also recommend this book to anyone in AS who likes to read books similar this one.

Bridge to Terabithia

This book was my children's classic book by Katherine Paterson and was really well written. It was a sweet story of a friendship and a magical land called Terabithia they made up together. This book makes you see what is rally important in life with the saying be careful what you wish for. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who doesn't like sad books, but I loved it. Jess Aarons is in fifth grade and is trying to become the fastest runner in fourth and fifth grade. Leslie Burke, the new girl who moved from the city is trying to fit in but together they make a great team. Together they make up a magical land called Terabithia that they rule and have adventures in, but that is the only place where they have adventures. School isn't an awful place, but there they are each others only friends. This book was a really quick read a 128 pages, and I would recommend this book to anyone in AS who likes reading about small adventures and friendship. This book was told really well and had a plot twist at the end that made the book a little sweeter.

Sunday School-Slice of Life

I was NOT excited that I had to leave yet another, sleepover early, because of stupid Sunday school. I said bye to my sleeping friends, and hopped in the car. I asked my dad why I had to go to Sunday school. I've learned the same things over, and over again. I'm glad I'm prepared for my Bat Mitzvah, but I have been since I was eight.

When we arrived at Temple Emanuel, where my Sunday School is held, I jumped out of the car and groaned. The only good thing about Sunday school is my friends. One of my friends name is Lindsay. During our boring class we pass notes. The notes can be about anything. Food, Sunday school, home life, or anything else. This is just one way to survive.

I always leave my hair down, and braid it during class. Sometimes, we do fun crafts, but usually it is learning hebrew, or preparing in other ways for my Bat Mitzvah. Finally, our two and a half hour misery is over and I get back in the car. I ask my dad if we can go out to Einsteins for breakfast, but he says he has work to do. Dang.

I go back home, and pop an eggo in the toaster. Another Sunday, dead. As I ate my waffle, I watched The mask with my sister. She doesn't hate Sunday school as much as I do, but she doesn't like it. We sit there, watching tv, and get bored. We ask our mom if we can go rock climbing. She says sure, and pile into the car. I guess Sunday wasn't that bad.

Apothecary

This book was a really quick read for me even though it was around 350 pages. For some of you it may be a two week book, and others it may just be one. Janie Scott feels lonely when she moves to Los Angeles with her family in the year 1952. She didn't know anyone there and school just wasn't the same until she met Benjamin Burrows, the local apothecary's son. Mr. Burrows has many kinds of medicine to cure practically anything, even homesickness though these aren't the only tricks he has up his sleeve. Benjamin has always wanted to be a spy and go on adventures and he gets the chance when strange things happen to Mr. Burrows and his magic book. Enemies are not far, and if they get their hands on what they want, it wont be good for anyone. I really like this book for a ton of reasons; it has a lot of mystery, a little magic, and the teamwork and friendship of Janie and Benjamin. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books with mystery, and anyone in AS.
