Apothecary

This book was a really quick read for me even though it was around 350 pages. For some of you it may be a two week book, and others it may just be one. Janie Scott feels lonely when she moves to Los Angeles with her family in the year 1952. She didn't know anyone there and school just wasn't the same until she met Benjamin Burrows, the local apothecary's son. Mr. Burrows has many kinds of medicine to cure practically anything, even homesickness though these aren't the only tricks he has up his sleeve. Benjamin has always wanted to be a spy and go on adventures and he gets the chance when strange things happen to Mr. Burrows and his magic book. Enemies are not far, and if they get their hands on what they want, it wont be good for anyone. I really like this book for a ton of reasons; it has a lot of mystery, a little magic, and the teamwork and friendship of Janie and Benjamin. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books with mystery, and anyone in AS.
