Glory Be

Glory Be is by Augusta Scattergood. It was a really quick read, and a page turner for me. This book is around 200 pages, and is based in the year 1964. Glory (Glorina June Hemphill) is ready to turn twelve, and she hopes everything will be much better then. Lately there has been arguing wether the segregated pool should be closed or should it stay open, and there is a new girl in town. Things haven't been going as planned for Glory, and she isn't so sure about what she thought before. I really liked this book, and I would recommend this book to anyone who liked Lions of Little Rock. I didn't read The Rock and the River, but I assume that people who liked that would like this too. This book had a good pace, and it was steady throughout the book. This is written in first person which really ties the book together in my opinion because you can really connect to the main character Glory. I would recommend this book to anyone in AS, and anyone who like Lions of Little Rock.
